The Los Angeles International Film Awards (LAIFA) is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for passionate film enthusiasts to join our dedicated team of shorts reviewers for this year's festival. If you have a love for cinema and want to contribute to one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, this is your chance!

Volunteer Role: Shorts Reviewer

Responsibilities:

  • Watch and review short films submitted to the festival.

  • Rate elements of each film out of 10.

  • Provide a brief summary of your thoughts on each film.

Purpose: Our amazing team of reviewers helps sort through the numerous submissions and identify standout films. Your reviews contribute to the shortlist, from which our Shorts Programmer curates the final festival lineup.

Requirements:

  • A passion for film and film festivals.

  • No prior experience is necessary, though familiarity with LAIFA is a plus.

  • Ability to commit a few hours each week during the review period.

Benefits:

  • Your name featured on our renowned pre-film thank you screen, shown before all festival screenings.

  • Complimentary film tickets at the festival (subject to availability, but we strive to accommodate all volunteers).

Time Commitment:

  • Reviews are conducted online, so you can participate from anywhere.

  • The review period runs for the next 14 weeks.

  • Flexible commitment, with a recommended couple of hours per week and opportunities for those who wish to contribute more.

Application Deadline: Please apply by the end of May to join our reviewer pool and start making your mark on this year's festival.
